Our Story

The proposed Land Use Bylaw was defeated UNANIMOUSLY by Council in a Special Meeting called on February 2, 2023 at 2 PM

We organised a community meeting on January 21 to raise awareness and see which direction our fellow residents wanted to pursue.

Thorhild County held a Public Hearing on January 10 to address the proposed Land Use Bylaw.

Our small group of members stumbled upon the proposed Land Use Bylaw when one of us was having issues with the permitting process. We had to use a search engine to find the proposed Land Use Bylaw, and once we did ,we had four days to alert our community to the new document.

On that same day, during the regular Council Meeting following the Public Hearing, after a closed session, Council moved to close the Radway Post Office.

Who are we and Why are we doing this?

We are a small group of community members in Thorhild County, trying to provide direction with actionable steps. We believe in information transparency

We were concerned about the Proposed Land Use Bylaw and the impacts it had the potential to have on every member in the county.

Since the start of this process, we have had hundreds of people reach out to us for help and guidance with the Land Use Bylaws in their own municipalities.

We are also concerned about the Radway Post Office closure, which impacts an entire hamlet and surrounding community, more than 400 people.
